Daily Night Euphoria

Vaporwave is a weird genre. It’s a pretty vast term used to describe a usually sample-based, slowed-down 80s vibe. A popular subgenre I got into a few months ago was slushwave: a sort of really slow, long, distorted, ambient vaporwave. I’ve found it’s really good background music, and it’s great at getting the dreamy atmosphere.
Daily Night Euphoria is not slushwave. I don’t really have a genre to describe it, other than ‘vaporwave’. I’ve heard vaporwave music create all kinds of dreamy, nostalgic, dark atmospheres, but nothing quite like this. I don’t know if it’s just something about the compressed, distant sounding drums and vocals or that beautiful 80s synth, but something about it is so special.
At only 6 tracks and less than 20 minutes long (for the original release, which I think is the best way to listen to it, here’s the bandcamp for that) it’s a brief listen, but it works. Some of Lindsheaven Virtual Plaza’s releases feel bloated, but this EP is straight to the point. From the second you turn it on you feel enthralled in the atmosphere. Wondrous city night time bliss. It’s really fun.
Every new vaporwave album I listen to gives me just a little bit more of an appreciation for it. This post is a little short but I’m coming up with some ideas for future posts :]
